Parenchyma cells are undifferentiated plant cells. Parenchyma cells are found in both the ground and vascular tissue systems. All the plant cells we studied in the plant cell lab (Link) were parenchyma cells. Parenchyma cells usually retain the ability to divide, and, given the proper conditions, can grow into a whole new plant.
